About Parker
Hi! My name is Parker and I wish to be your tutor. I love mathematics and helping others when they need help. This is why I wish to become a tutor to help you improve at mathematics when you need help. Over the years, I have improved vastly at mathematics and I believe that with the correct training and proper discipline. But underneath it all, the true goal, I believe, is to love the structure and properties of mathematics.

Personally, I believe that teaching mathematics should be a struggle because the best way to get better at mathematics is both with an understanding of how it is used with relation to other things in mathematics and problems that actually make you think. Problems that make you think means that uninteresting problems are clearly not going to help the student learn. Furthermore, being passionate about mathematics is a vast improvement to their mathematical skill, and therefore, I want the student to see the beauty in mathematics, even if it means they struggle. Aside from just math, struggle is something everyone faces and is present in every STEM major. That being said, I am not capable of teaching Olympiad level difficulty, but still wish to teach difficult, interesting problems. Lesson plans would vary based off student, subject, and task in subject. If the goal is to improve in a certain subject, then I will give practice problems that I find interesting in the subject to the student. If the goal is to learn the material, then I would probably start off with a lecture on the material and send notes to the student. The classes I am willing to teach are from algebra and geometry to Calculus BC level.
