High School Senior Science-Math Wiz, Bronx-based (Travel Within 5 Boroughs) Lessons Offered to MS and HS Students in need of help

My name is Ferni and I work with Chris as his College Placement Manager through his participation in Breakthrough New York.

Chris is a super personable, friendly individual and a cheerleader/hype person for everyone he cares about - in this case, the students he'll be tutoring! He takes time to get to know people and is a great listener. Not to mention, Chris always knows how to cheer you up whenever you're down - I know from firsthand experience! I know that Chris will be patient and thorough when it comes to supporting students during tutoring lessons.

Christopher was a tutor for Breakthrough New York's middle school after school program for one school year. In that time, Christopher was a energetic and dependable presence in our environment. Christopher built strong relationships with students and conveyed his passion for learning and growing to students on a daily basis. I have been Christopher's mentor for over two years at Breakthrough New York. Chris is a hardworking, compassionate, and detail-oriented student. Chris and I first met way back in freshman year of high school. His tutoring style is very hand-in-hand. He lets the student learn and explore on their own, but also will not hesitate to help out directly should the need arise. He's clearly serious and focused on bettering his education, but he also knows how to have fun. This is also why he'd make a great tutor; he has the focus and rigor to challenge and improve a student, but he has the humor and personality to bond with and comfort them too. He also has a clear passion for helping out those in need in any way he can. He does not feel he's moved up in the world until everyone else around him moves up with him.
