About Maya
I began tutoring pre-algebra in 8th grade and since then have tutored 3 students individually while also providing help to my teachers with other students in after school group sessions. One student I tutored last year in AP U.S. History was able to raise her grade from a 53% to an 82% and also passed the AP exam. I myself studied for the SAT and scored a 1480 on my first try then a 1530. I have my own SAT prep books that I will use to give students extra practice in preparation for the exam.

I primarily work with high school juniors and seniors who are preparing for the SAT test before applying to colleges. For the math section, I go through practice problems with the student to identify which types of problems they struggle with and review the concept with them. For the reading and writing sections, I teach the students a method for analyzing the texts efficiently.
