About Laila
My name is Laila Abernathy, I am 15 years old and a high school student.
I am a published author, a former salutatorian, and A and B student.
I have experience working with children of all ages and working alongside students so that they understand the lesson along with feeling confident with their work and progress going forward.
My goal is to make sure that all of my students feel comfortable learning and not feel afraid to ask for help when needed.

My teaching techniques include hands-on learning while working with students, so it feels like I'm learning along with them. This way they can understand the lesson while also having fun. A typical lesson plan for me begins with an overview of the student's assignments and asking what specific parts they struggle with. This allows me to better understand the main areas we should focus on. My lessons are available for 2nd-9th graders. I can also help with PSAT prep for older students and basic reading, language, and math for younger students. One thing that sets me apart as a tutor is that I like to get to know my students so that I can cater to their learning styles.
