About Bailey
I am a high-performing high school student and have been tutoring for the past three years. I became passionate about teaching in middle school when my math teacher frequently asked me to explain problems to his classes and make videos explaining difficult to understand concepts. I have been tutoring with a non profit organization for the past two years, which gives me the chance to work with students that may not otherwise have access to extra educational help. I encourage students to ask questions and make it a point to emphasize that mistakes are learning opportunities and don't have to be looked down upon. I am passionate about teaching and go into it with the goal of helping students find joy in learning.

My lesson structure varies based on my students and their personal learning styles. I work with k-8 students, so my main priority is to make learning accessible and enjoyable. For introductory reading students, I typically expose them to grade level reading material by reading to them and having them read with me. I have students write down words that are unfamiliar so we can review them together. When I work with math students (of all ages) I give them practice problems and practice tests and do example problems with them. I also offer them my own videos explaining difficult to understand concepts that they can re-watch. I encourage students to ask questions and often create lessons based on their preferred learning style and interests.
