About Rafi
Art has always been a huge part of my life; it's how I express myself and see the world. I'm a high school student going into my junior year, and I've spent years learning and growing as an artist. I was homeschooled for five years through an online Waldorf program with a strong focus on art, took classes at the Met and the Cloisters, worked with a private art tutor, and have even sold some of my own artwork.
I love working with watercolor, acrylic paint, sketching, sewing, and many other creative mediums. I also enjoy bringing history and storytelling into my lessons because I believe every piece of art has a story behind it.
What I love most is helping others discover their own creativity. I don't want to be just another teacher; I want to be like an older sister who encourages, supports, and inspires students to create art they're proud of. My goal isn't to teach kids to draw like me; it's to help them find their own style and fall in love with making art.
When I'm not working on my art, I'm a dedicated high school student going into my junior year. I have a 4.5 GPA, am a High Honor Roll student and Principal's Honor Award recipient, and take Honors and AP courses with a focus on history. My love of learning extends beyond art, and I bring that same curiosity, dedication, and enthusiasm into everything I do.

I'm a high school student who believes the best way to teach art is by guiding, not instructing. Kids are naturally curious, and I think they learn best when they're free to explore their own ideas. I like to make art feel like a fun game, so students build confidence and enjoy being creative.
A typical lesson starts with the student choosing what they want to draw, maybe something they saw, a favorite character, or something they think looks cool. I'll guide them through the process, teach them new techniques, and encourage them to express their own artistic style instead of copying mine.
My goal is to give students the skills and confidence to create art on their own. My lessons are perfect for beginners and younger students who want to have fun while learning to draw.
