About Charles
I was entrepreneurial for several years having established and managed five businesses involving the sciences including an Analytical Chemistry Lab. I was a chemical officer in the United States Army working with defoliants and nerve gas. I taught Post Doctoral Classes at the University of Arkansas in forage and grassland management. I have consulted in chemistry and the environmental sciences in five foreign countries including the European Union and Saudi Arabia. I received a national Environmental Stewardship Award for my work in forage management. I was a research advisor for Sustainable Agriculture in the Southeastern United States. I have taught geometry, algebra, college algebra, and pre-calculus. I taught adult ESL classes for Northwest Arkansas Technical School. I retired from Har-Ber High School after teaching the sciences for 17 years.

I begin lessons by responding to questions first. For a given math problem, I use detailed examples. If I am instructing from a lesson plan, I start with the objective and use detailed examples, key words, case studies, research reports, or personal experiences depending on the course being taught. I end the lesson with a review and final questions.
