About Harper

Hi! I’m a straight-A student who has been studying Spanish for 7 years and is currently learning four languages. I’ve always had a deep love for languages, reading, and immersing myself in different cultures, which has helped me develop strong communication skills and a genuine passion for teaching others.

I’m highly motivated, organized, proactive, and committed to creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence step by step. Because I’m actively learning languages myself, I understand where students commonly struggle and how to explain concepts in a clear, encouraging, and approachable way.

Outside of academics, I love reading, baking, animals, sunshine, good food, and staying involved in school activities, and I bring that same positive energy and patience into every lesson. My goal is not only to help students improve their Spanish, but to help them genuinely enjoy learning the language and feel excited to keep progressing.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on making language learning enjoyable, engaging, and practical. I believe language is one of the most important ways people connect and communicate, so I want students to feel confident actually using Spanish, not just memorizing vocabulary. For higher-level students, I like incorporating partial or full Spanish immersion so all parts of the brain stay actively engaged in learning.

For a first lesson, we’ll get to know each other, discuss goals, and look at what you already know and are currently learning. In future lessons, we’ll use a mix of conversation practice, immersion, flashcards, worksheets, listening activities, and grammar exercises to strengthen vocabulary, comprehension, speaking, and confidence.

What sets me apart is my patience and genuine passion for languages. As someone learning four languages myself, I understand both the challenges and excitement of language learning and work hard to create a supportive and encouraging environment.

My lessons are for students of all levels, from complete beginners to students in Spanish 5 or the level before AP Spanish.
