About Joanna
I am a fully qualified teacher with over 20 years of tutoring experience, offering high-quality, bespoke Maths tuition for children and young people aged 5–16, from primary school through to GCSE.
While I tutor across the full age range, I have a particular specialism in supporting students working towards their Foundation GCSE Maths. I work especially well with students who have gaps in their understanding, lack confidence in Maths, or need a more personalised approach to help them make the progress they are capable of.
My lessons are carefully tailored to each individual student. I take the time to identify exactly where difficulties lie, build understanding step-by-step and develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to succeed.

Extensive Teaching & Tutoring Experience:
Alongside more than 20 years of private tutoring, I have 6 years of full-time teaching experience in both independent and state schools. I have also supported a wide range of students aged 5–16 through private tuition and the National Tutoring Programme.
This breadth of experience has given me a detailed understanding of the Maths curriculum across all key stages, the common barriers that can prevent students from progressing, and how to adapt teaching effectively to different abilities, needs and learning styles.
My approach is professional, supportive and results-focused, with every lesson designed around the individual student and their specific needs.
Whether your child needs to strengthen their foundations in primary Maths, develop confidence during Key Stage 3, or work towards their Foundation GCSE Maths pass, I provide experienced, personalised tuition designed to help them make meaningful and sustained progress.

Details
I charge £60 per hour for one-to-one tuition.
In addition, I run an online small-group masterclass for GCSE Pearson (Edexcel) Foundation Maths with a maximum of 4 students at a rate of £20 per hour. Using Zoom, I run highly engaging, live lessons that focus entirely on building confidence, mastering core methods, and breaking down Pearson (Edexcel) Foundation Maths exam papers.
My two targeted online sessions run every single week to ensure complete syllabus coverage:
*Mondays (7:00 PM – 8:00 PM): Non-Calculator Skills
*Thursdays (7:00 PM – 8:00 PM): Calculator & Exam Technique
