About Helen
My priority as a teacher or tutor has always been to help my students achieve at their best. When my Biology students complained about their textbooks I wrote my own version for them and also made these available to other schools. I am known for my ability to break content down into manageable chunks which assists students to understand and recall the concepts. In addition to assisting with concepts I also deal with skills such as identifying common mistakes and how to avoid them as well as question interpretation.

I have 20 years of experience as a tutor in person and via zoom. I am a qualified Science teacher with 25 years of experience with classes up to Year 10 Science, Year 11 Chemistry and Year 12 Biology. Lessons typically go for 1 hour but the time is flexible as needed. Generally I like to establish the needs of the student prior to the first lesson so that I can be prepared to be as much assistance as possible. lessons generally include addressing student questions, working through specific questions and providing advice in improving short and long answers as well as calculations.
