About Jonathan
I am now retired after a long career in education and want to continue my own development by assisting those struggling a little with my subjects and offering them pointers and help over hurdles. Most students know and understand far more than they realise.

Since 1988, I have taught at a wide variety of schools in the UK but spent the final fifteen years at the highly academic Dulwich College and taught evening classes at Birkbeck College (part of London University).
I do not regard myself as a brilliant mathematician, nor economist which has forced me to think very carefully and at great depth in what I teach. I hardly studied statistics at university, so when asked to prepare to teach it to students at A level and university had to develop a very thorough understanding; I had to think hard about all the ideas we present.
So, I don't usually tell students answers, I help them think through what the answer must be and why. I am not exam focus, I am subject focussed.
