About Bongumenzi

Dear Students, I am Bongumenzi Mtshali, and it is my privilege to be your tutor in isiZulu and language education. With a BA Honors in African Languages (with Distinction) and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Johannesburg, I bring a deep passion for teaching and a proven track record of fostering academic excellence. Over the past four years, I have tutored at the University of Johannesburg, guiding second-year BA and B.Ed students in advanced isiZulu grammar, literature, and sociolinguistics, and supporting fourth-year PGCE and B.Ed students in teaching methodology and practicum. At the University of the Witwatersrand, I lectured in isiZulu language programs, equipping diverse learners with advanced grammar and conversational skills. My work at Alliance Française allowed me to teach practical isiZulu to non-native speakers, enhancing their travel and cultural experiences. Additionally, I taught history at Sandringham High School, achieving full curriculum coverage through strategic planning. As a Senior Tutor, I led a team of 20 tutors, introducing innovative online assessments to elevate learning outcomes.
