About Jacques

As a lifelong learner, I am passionate about sharing knowledge and inspiring others to explore the wonders of life and the physical universe. My academic journey has been driven by a deep curiosity for science, technology, and the natural world. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and an Honors degree in Pharmacology (Cum Laude) from the University of Pretoria. I am also a self-taught computer programmer and Data Engineer. I have 7 years of tutoring experience across high school subjects such as Mathematics, Biology, Physical Science, and Chemistry. I also have 2 years of experience as an Associate Lecturer in computer science, where I developed and delivered IGCSE and Advanced Subsidiary level courses.

About the lesson

In each session, we focus on deep understanding and building concepts step-by-step. Lessons begin with clear, engaging explanations—often using diagrams or real-world examples to help you visualize and connect with the material. My goal is to spark your curiosity and lead you to an “AHA!” moment, where everything clicks. After that, we’ll work through custom practice problems that I design to match your learning level, ensuring you grasp the topic at your own pace. The lesson structure allows you to think critically and incrementally, moving from basic understanding to mastery. By the end of each session, you’ll not only know the material but also feel confident applying it in exams or classwork. I am proficient in teaching in English and Afrikaans. I can tutor both high school and first year university level courses.
