About the lesson

A Typical Lesson Plan Warm-Up (5 min): Quick phonics drill or math fluency game to engage focus. New Concept Introduction (10 min): Present one targeted skill, e.g., the “ar” sound or adding two-digit numbers, using modeling and guided practice. Guided Practice (10 min): Work side-by-side through examples, prompting the student to explain their thinking aloud. Independent Application (10 min): Child completes short exercises, reading a decodable sentence set or solving math problems, while I circulate supportively. Review & Feedback (5 min): Celebrate successes, correct misconceptions, and set a simple goal for the next session.
