My lessons typically fall into two categories - skills development or problem solving.
In skills development lessons, I create detailed lesson plans to teach students the skills they want to learn step-by-step. I approach knowledge like stepping stones on a lake - to reach the other shore one must take a first step before they take the next.
In problem-solving style lessons, I typically help students solve a problem with a deadline for class or for work. We may meet nightly or weekly to meet the deadline and achieve maximal performance for the assignment. In this lesson style, my top priority is reproducibility for the student. While I'm glad I can help with the current assignment, I hope to give students the tools they need for independence in their next.
