About April
I am a life-long learner, who has found great joy in reading and writing, throughout my entire life. I knew early on that teaching was my calling because I wanted to show my students hidden meanings within the world that surrounds us. I believe that the written word has so much to offer, and those who try and find meaning in words, live a much richer life. We can learn so much from the words others have written, apply it with our own unique perspectives, and make so much more sense of the world around us. I believe we all have a voice that needs to be expressed and heard, and it is my hope that I can cultivate a love for reading and writing - one that will impact my students throughout their lives.

I believe that learning is multi-faceted, and every learner has unique interests and talents that help shape the way they learn. After discovering your unique way of learning, I will tailor my lessons to match your individual needs. My goal is to make learning enjoyable, meaningful, and impactful. It is my hope that whatever you read or write will impact you throughout your life. My lessons are designed for ages 12-18+ and they will cater to those students who need to find meaning in both reading and writing. I will help you to use what you have learned and apply it in written form. I can aid you in making meaning of any given text or applying it in a detailed paper assignment. I love teaching narrative, persuasive, and informative writing and helping you to discover your unique voice. I also find great joy in helping students find a love for reading, most specifically the genre of literature they are most drawn to.
