About Jack
I am currently studying History and Politics at Lancaster University and have a strong interest in History. My degree has developed my knowledge of historical analysis, source evaluation, research and academic essay writing.
I understand how challenging GCSE and A-Level History can sometimes feel, particularly when it comes to remembering large amounts of information, analysing sources and writing high-quality essays under exam conditions. I aim to provide a friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through historical topics at their own pace.
As a university student, I also understand the pressures of education and can help students develop effective revision and study techniques that they can continue using independently. My goal is not simply to help students memorise historical information, but to help them understand the past, develop stronger analytical skills and become more confident in their own abilities.

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, whether they want to improve their subject knowledge, build confidence, prepare for exams or improve their essay-writing skills. I can help GCSE and A-Level students with topics in History, including source analysis, exam technique, essay structure, revision planning and understanding difficult topics.
I believe tutoring should be engaging and relaxed rather than simply repeating classroom lessons. I will adapt the sessions to the student's learning style and use discussion, practice questions, past papers and clear explanations to make difficult topics easier to understand. Lessons can be structured around a particular exam board or focus on areas where the student feels they need the most support.
