About Kitty
My name is Kitty, and I am a History graduate from the University of Manchester. History has always been a subject I have genuinely enjoyed, and I would love to help younger students develop the same confidence and enthusiasm for it.
At A-level, I particularly enjoyed studying German, Russian and British history, which gave me a broad understanding of different historical periods, societies and political developments. During my degree, I was able to explore my interests in much greater depth, culminating in my dissertation, which focused on the experiences and everyday lives of women in Nazi Germany.
Having studied History at both A-level and university, I understand that it can sometimes be difficult to know how to approach large amounts of content, particularly when preparing for exams. I want to make lessons engaging and approachable, while helping students develop a genuine understanding of the topics they are studying rather than simply memorising facts.

I understand that History can sometimes feel overwhelming, particularly when there is a lot of content to learn or when it can be difficult to know exactly what examiners are looking for. My aim is to make History feel more accessible, engaging and manageable, while helping students develop the confidence to approach their work independently.
I believe that building a positive relationship with each student is really important. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, admitting when they are unsure about something and taking the time they need to properly understand a topic, without feeling embarrassed or judged. I can adapt sessions to suit each student’s individual learning style, strengths and areas for development.
Alongside helping students understand historical content, I can provide particular support with exam technique, essay structure, source analysis and revision strategies. I can share the techniques and tips that have helped me throughout my own History degree, including how to structure a strong argument, use evidence effectively, analyse sources and ensure that answers directly address the question.
My goal is not simply to help students memorise information, but to help them develop the skills and confidence to think critically, construct convincing arguments and ultimately become stronger History students.
