- What are your qualifications?

History BA degree from the University of Leeds.
Achieved A-levels in History, Psychology, Law and EPQ.
Attained 13 GCSE's levels A-C, including History (A).

From my qualifications, it's not surprising to learn that I have a passion for history. Throughout my education I have studied and gain an understanding into a diverse range of historical topics:

- The Tudors 1485-1603.
- The French Wars of Religion.
- Slavery in both the US and Caribbean.
- The Plague in England (Black Death).
- England 1642-1660 (English Civil War).
- Rise of Communism in Russia and the rule of Stalin.
- Germany, Britain and the USA before, during and after WWII.
- Margaret Thatcher.
- India 1857-1947.
- History of Psychology/Psychiatry.
- Medicine in the Middle Ages.
- History of Modern Medicine.
- History of Science.
- Global Business History.

The Tudors is a speciality of mine, which really began when I studied them for my A-levels. After that, I frequently studied them throughout my degree, including a module that specifically focused on Elizabeth I. My love for this chaotic family made them the go-to topic for my final year dissertation, which received a solid First Classification mark.

I like to call psychology my second love (I even nearly did it as a degree). I achieved an A level in Psychology but my education in the subject did not stop there - during my degree I studied the history of Psychiatry, Psychology and its role in science.

About the lesson

The focus of my Tutoring is you, the student. Like a lot of things, one size doesn't fit all - it's exactly the same with learning/teaching!

I will get to know the immediate and long-term needs of a student. My priority is to have an open conversation with them to explore what areas they need my assistance - whether it's to improve their exam technique, understanding of a specific area of the topic or their general knowledge of the entire subject. I will also get to know how they learn best and try to tailor my lessons to suit them.

As a tutor, I am extremely enthusiastic and passionate about the subjects I teach, and it is my priority to share everything I know to benefit my students. But I also like to create an atmosphere within my lessons that encourages them to engage with the subject, to have a go and not be afraid to get something wrong. Interactions like this make it easier for me to identify gaps in their knowledge and guide my explanations to provide them with the correct understanding.
