My teaching method is based on individual needs, as each student's way of learning will vary. For most students, specifically younger students, I like to be hands on. I feel the best way of learning is one that incorporates all learning styles i.e. Verbal, Visual and Kinesthetic. If one method does not work, we try until a successful method is achievable. Patience is key when addressing and tutoring a student. As the tutor you must be willing to work with them and listen to anything that they might have to say. There are no dumb questions when I teach and I love when students are asking questions or for help. Topics vary depending on the subject and level the student is at. More detailed topics will be covered as the student progresses through the basics.
I am a college graduate with a degree in History and Social Sciences. My fields of expertise include History, Sociology, Anthropology, Geography, and Archaeology. I have three years of prior tutoring experience ranging from Middle School to College. I have tutored individuals and have tutored groups. For Middle School to High School aged students, I prefer individual tutoring to assess and determine that the student's needs and requirements are met. However, college aged students are eligible for group tutoring if they wish. Most group sessions I taught had an average of 15-20 students in them, but some groups were smaller. I have been awarded several distinctions and honors throughout my college career and I have experience in Essay Writing, Test Prep, College Applications, Museum Work, and Archaeological Excavations.
