About Kayla
Throughout my undergraduate experience I worked as a writing tutor for my university. When I transitioned to Grad school, I also worked as a TA for an entry level history course. This taught me how to build deeper relationships with my students and alter my teaching methods to the learner. Currently, I work in Development at an art museum and spend my days writing grants and posts for my history blog. In college, I earned a certificate in resume writing and have experience presenting at conferences like Phi Alpha Theta and distinguished lecture series in Charleston, SC.

With students, it is my goal to base the lesson on what is needed the most. My teaching method is asking open-ended questions that lead students to their own discoveries to instill confidence in their work. A typical lesson would begin with addressing areas of need and tackling them in a step by step process. Lessons are centered around middle school and high school students.
