About Tamra
Hi! I am a high school Special Education teacher. I have 10+ years of classroom experience. I have worked with students pre k-12th grade. Currently I teach resource World History and U.S. History. I also co-teach U.S. History! Special education has taught me to meet the needs of students of all levels.
Special Education teachers cultivate an inclusive, adaptable approach that benefits all learners. Key practices include Universal Design for Learning to provide multiple entry points to content, individualized supports without stigma, ongoing formative assessments to guide instruction, and strong collaboration with general educators, families, and specialists. Clear routines, explicit instruction, and flexible pacing ensure accessibility and challenge for everyone. Emphasis on transferable skills, empathy, and relationship-building provides a safe, motivating environment.
