About Vinisha

I've been tutoring two GCSE students and one A-Level student for the past year. I found that if they know how to structure an essay well and understand what the question is asking of them they can really shine through in their work. This has helped one my students go from a C grade to an A grade at GCSE.

I'm willing to tutor all abilities and adapt my teaching style according to individual strength and weaknesses, working at a pace that is best for you.

About the lesson

As a first-year undergraduate, I have recently completed my A-Levels hence I know full well how tough and rigorous the A-Level and GCSE history courses have become throughout the years. They demand that the students think more for themselves and develop their own opinions, making a coherent and sustained argument in their essays. Aside from what is normally thought, there is a right and wrong in history (well most of the time). Once I help you test your judgements and reason them, everything else will become a whole lot easier.

Remembering facts can be difficult thats why I will tend to use quick-fire questions to drill them into your heads and get rid of those blind-spots. More time will be dedicated to the sections that you struggle with and particularly focusing on understanding before remembering.

Sticky post-its and note-making can really help with revision and simply remembering dates. As there are not many past papers for the recently reformed history course, I can collate a variety of them to help with essay writing.

History coursework is much more in-depth and it requires a complex understanding that I can help nurture.

I am primarily here for you to ask questions and as school teachers may not be so approachable, you can do so in a calm and friendly atmosphere where there is no such thing as a 'silly question'!
