About Caitlin
Hello!
My name is Caitlin, I am 23 and I'm originally from Liverpool, but currently teaching in Birmingham.
I have always had a passion for history, primarily social history (how people lived in the past) but I also love political history. During my time at Edinburgh University, I was actually a history tour guide, helping tourists find a passion in the subject.
Outside of history, my passions and interests are as followed (in no particular order): The Beatles, 90's murder-mystery dramas, hoping that Everton don't get relegated, pub quizzes and cooking.

Based off of my training, I believe that the best method to teach history is pupil centred. If I can find out what interests you, I can make history relatable to you. This is how I teach in my department and it engages pupils and in turn improves progress.
I ask my pupils to complete a short assessment so I can then personalise the process based on their strengths and weaknesses. My teaching is not only content based (what happened in the past) but skills based (how to answer a question) to ensure pupil's know how to answer the question, as this is where most people lose the marks.
My lessons are an hour long, and I am willing to teach any age group. I have been teaching for two years now, so you are in safe hands!
