About James
I have been tutoring students of all ages in social studies for the past 4 years now. Working with me has given my students the confidence they need to perform well on tests and ultimately succeed in their social studies class. This has instilled in them a love for social studies that the may not otherwise have had.

I am a tutor with a tremendous sense of passion for history and it is my goal to instill that in my students. My approach to teaching history is to have my students view history as a book, TV show, or movie. I encourage them to look at the historical figure that they are studying as the protagonist of this book or movie and to put themselves in this person's shoes. I then try to explain to them that just like in a book or movie, history is full of obstacles and challenges and that the protagonist must overcome these challenges. I also explain to them that there are important lessons that can be learned from different events in history.
