Strangely enough, I haven't got much experience teaching Spanish as a foreign language, but I once had once the opportunity to assist learners seeking to learn Spanish via a virtual platform. This virtual course in my opinion, not only provided them with little authentic input (most of the audio recordings were made by non-native speakers of Spanish), but also lacked variety in terms of the input being provided (the few instances in which learners had access to native input, the recordings only included utterances from Spanish speakers from Spain). I have dual nationality (both Colombian and Spanish) and love the Spanish accent (from Spain) but I also find it is useful for those who are willing to learn Spanish as a foreign language to have access to other Latin American varieties. If you're thinking about traveling to Latin America at some point in your life, then a basic understanding of how Colombian, Venezuelan, Argentinian, Chilean, Mexican etc. Spanish sounds, is a must :)!

My approach to teaching and foreign languages is a slightly unconventional. I firmly believe in the power of storytelling, drama, and music as tools to support learners foreign language development.
Languages shouldn't be taught in isolation. There's a strong link between language and identity, language and interaction, language and collaborative dialogue, language and authentic input. My role as a teacher, I believe, is to provide anyone who's willing to learn Spanish with a unique opportunity to practice and learn this wonderful foreign language through plays, scripts, audio-visual material, samples of authentic speech, and examples of the vast array of Spanish varieties, among others. I look forward to guiding you in your language learning process , not as a teacher, but as facilitator who can provide you with useful feedback, authentic utterances, and enhance you motivation and curiosity towards learning Spanish as a foreign language. The key to success: Notice, practice, make mistakes, try again, persist, and simply enjoy the learning process!
