About Margaret
I'm a mathematics tutor with over 5 years of experience helping K-12 students build real confidence in math — not just memorize steps. My core focus is grades 9–10, but I comfortably teach across all grade levels, covering algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics.
I hold diplomas in Applied Statistics (Pure Mathematics option) and Business Administration, giving me a strong foundation across both pure math and applied/statistical thinking.
I run both 1:1 sessions and small groups (up to 5 students, kept at or below a 4:1 ratio), and I tailor every lesson plan to how the student actually learns adjusting pace, examples and difficulty as we go. One of my proudest results: I once took on a student who was scoring at the bottom of her class and had been flagged as likely to struggle long-term. Over one year of consistent, fundamentals-first work, she became an above-average performer in STEM.
I teach live via Zoom or Google Meet, including holiday-intensive programs and I'm comfortable working across time zones with international students. I keep parents and where relevant, school teams updated on progress, I believe tutoring works best when everyone's aligned on the goal.
