About Basile

Hi! I'm Basile, a native French speaker from Belgium with a Master's degree in History. I also speak Dutch at a near-native level and am fluent in English.

I love languages, history, geography, and discovering different cultures. Having traveled extensively and currently living in Southeast Asia, I enjoy helping students not only learn French, but also understand the culture and everyday life behind the language.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is student-centered, practical, and adaptable. I believe that every student has different goals, strengths, and difficulties, so I adapt my lessons to their individual needs and level.

I place a strong emphasis on communication and active practice. From the beginning, I encourage students to speak French as much as possible, even if they make mistakes. Making mistakes is a natural and essential part of learning a language, and my goal is to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable trying, asking questions, and improving.

Depending on the student's objectives, lessons can focus on conversation, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, or listening comprehension. I also like to use real-life situations and authentic materials to make French more concrete and useful.
