About Yamilette
My name is Yamilette Perez, and I am a passionate Spanish teacher dedicated to helping students develop their language skills and appreciation for the Spanish-speaking world. I have experience teaching Spanish at the middle school level, including Discovery Spanish and Spanish 1 for high school credit with students in grades 6–8. I enjoy creating engaging lessons that encourage communication, cultural understanding, and confidence in using the Spanish language. I am currently transferring my teaching certification to Florida and look forward to bringing my experience, enthusiasm, and commitment to student success to a new school community.

Spanish
I teach discovery Spanish and Spanish 1 level for high school credit. For discovery Spanish, the students will be learning for 9 to 12 weeks vocabulary- some definitions and basic information such as colors, numbers, months of the year, the calendar and seasons, sports by covering diversity learners.
On the other hand, Spanish 1 students will be learning the language for a whole year. They will be immersed in the language and demonstrate language acquisition by listening, speaking, writing, and reading.
Students will speak and hold simple conversations in the target language by exchanging information. They will be able to read and answer the questions, writing and understanding how to conjugate verbs and more. They will have different topics such as Greeting and introductions, Descriptions, The calendar, The house and chores, Verb to be, to give sports and more. Everything in a fun way to meet students' different learners.
