About Emma

I am a passionate piano instructor with a Bachelor’s degree in Music and over six years of experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels. My own journey with piano began as a child, and what started as curiosity quickly turned into a lifelong pursuit of musical expression. That personal connection to music drives me to help others discover the same joy, confidence, and discipline that the piano can bring. Over the years, I’ve worked with beginners learning their first notes as well as more advanced students preparing for performances or examinations. My teaching blends traditional techniques with modern, student-centered approaches that make lessons both structured and engaging. I believe in guiding students to develop strong technical foundations while also encouraging musical exploration and creativity. Beyond the notes on the page, I love helping students connect emotionally with their music. I introduce them to a variety of genres and composers, aiming to expand their appreciation for the instrument and the art form. Whether it’s a classical sonata, a contemporary pop piece, or an original composition, I strive to make each lesson meaningful and inspiring. Teaching piano is not just a profession for me—it’s a fulfilling part of who I am. I take pride in creating a warm, supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to grow. Watching a student achieve their musical goals, no matter how big or small, is one of the most rewarding experiences, and I feel privileged to be part of that journey.

About the lesson

My piano lessons are carefully crafted to support students at all stages—from complete beginners to those refining advanced skills. Each lesson is tailored to the individual, ensuring that the pace, content, and challenges align with your goals and abilities. Whether you're learning to read music for the first time or preparing for a formal exam, I provide clear, structured guidance to help you grow with confidence.

Foundational skills are introduced early and reinforced through consistent practice. These include note reading, rhythm, hand positioning, and finger independence. As you become more comfortable with the basics, we move into more complex areas such as dynamics, phrasing, and expressive playing. Technical development is balanced with musicality so that you not only play accurately but also connect emotionally with your pieces.

To keep learning engaging and diverse, I incorporate a mix of classical repertoire, popular music, and student-chosen pieces. This variety ensures that lessons remain enjoyable while building a solid technique. We also explore ear training, music theory, and sight-reading skills, all of which contribute to becoming a well-rounded pianist. Students are encouraged to ask questions, explore their creativity, and set personal musical goals.

I aim to create a supportive learning space where you can explore your love for the piano at your own pace.
