About Liz
I've always loved science but struggled in high school with the confidence to ask questions when I didn't understand a subject out of fear of looking dumb. I think many students struggle with being too scared to ask for help and that's why I believe its important to create an environment where students are encouraged to learn and ask questions without feeling judged. I encourage my students to ask questions and challenge themselves . I believe anyone can succeed, even in a course they may not like if they believe in themselves and what they're capable of when they put their mind to it.

My areas of expertise include general biology, microbiology, molecular biology, ecology, evolution, organic chemistry, and general chemistry with hands on experience working in labs studying these subjects. This experience provides me with in-depth knowledge on these subjects and allows me to convey these concepts to students in a understandable way.
I encourage my students to build strong problem solving skills and work toward finding a solution on their own. I will help them work through weekly assignments and prepare for tests while ensuring they are confident with the content. I want my students to succeed and hopefully come away with a new appreciation for science that is reflected in their final grade.
A typical lesson plan would review what the student learned in that week of class, focusing on the concepts they may confusing or challenging. I would then help them with any homework they have.
