I approach teaching by putting an emphasis on understanding the concept rather than memorizing. From there, developing their thinking skills allowing them the felxibility of discovering their own method of studying or solving problems. As opposed to memorization, once the concept is understood, it will never be forgotten and can be applied in the real world. Depending on the student, visual aids may be used.
