About Paul
I began studying history at Exeter (Falmouth campus) when the recession loomed. I left to pursue my work career due to the current climate. I took two years out of my career in Lettings to complete my degree with the Open University which provided me with a whole range of skills not easily learnt at a traditional brick university all whilst working and eventually running a pub in this interim period. I also have an access to higher education diploma. I am seeking to teach part time as it gives me the opportunity to explore my passion for history whilst also dipping my toes in the water to explore teaching as an alternative avenue in the future.

My teaching method is to gain a full understanding of the students curriculum so that I can best help them achieve the grades they set out for or just improve them. I believe in teaching history in a manner that does not just focus on facts, figures, locations and dates but rather takes a more humanistic approach and how the skills learnt from studying historic events can empower those in the present in a whole variety of ways. Specifically by questioning whats going on around them by referring to the truths of the past in order that we can make informed judgements on the present and for the future.
