About Larissa
Since 2020, I have dedicated my free time and professional career to youth empowerment and learning! I started my career as a volunteer tutor for Parsec Youth Network and had an incredible experience teaching French to students struggling with the transition to online learning. I then went on to become a camp counsellor at the YMCA where I gained many classroom management skills and learned the importance of FUN in learning :) Additionally, I have volunteered with Girl Guides of Canada for the past 2 years where I led my own group of young adults in pursuing their passions and learning new skills! Last summer I had the unique experience of being an online Kid-Coach with Future Possibilities for Kids where I led self-empowerment sessions to instill the importance of leadership into the lives of youth! Fast-forward to today, where I have worked as a Language Assistant in high-schools for the past year teaching ESL and learning advanced education skills :) I am also a very creative and artistic person who has dedicated 4 years to creating print magazines around my university and continue to bring this artistic passion into my lessons !

I have 2 years of tutoring experience and 1 year of teaching experience at a high-school level! As a lifelong student, I have a passion for learning, and love to see my students shine! I use colourful visuals, and unique material that is tailored to each individual student! I take the time to see which areas you need the most help in and work from there. I also love feedback and make sure that you are getting the results you want AND more :) The most important part of my sessions is that we have FUN while learning!
