About Jay

I’m a hardworking, dedicated and ambitious person who genuinely enjoys helping others succeed. I’m someone who takes pride in putting in the effort, staying committed to my goals and constantly trying to improve myself. I believe that everyone has the ability to achieve great things with the right support, guidance and mindset, which is why I’m passionate about helping others reach their potential. I’m patient, approachable and willing to put the time in to help someone understand something rather than simply giving them the answer. Whether it’s helping someone improve their grades, build their confidence or overcome a subject they’ve been struggling with, I find it genuinely rewarding to see other people progress and succeed. Ultimately, I want to use my own experiences and the lessons I’ve learned to help others believe in themselves and achieve more than they thought they could.

About the lesson

I’m not someone who was always naturally good at studying. In fact, I started out as a D-grade student, so I know what it’s like to feel like you’re putting in the effort but just not getting the results you want. Over time, I figured out how to study properly, build my confidence and understand what examiners actually look for, which helped me go from D grades to achieving As. Since then, I’ve developed a real passion for helping other students do the same. I’m also a keen mooter, which has helped me build strong skills in arguing a point, thinking critically and speaking confidently, and I’m currently studying Law at Manchester Metropolitan University. I want my students to know that I’m not here to simply give you more work or talk at you for an hour — I’m here to understand where you’re struggling, explain things in a way that actually makes sense, and help you become more confident in your own ability. If I can go from being a D-grade student to studying Law at university and becoming an A student, I genuinely believe I can help you make that same kind of progress.
