About Ian
I've been teaching guitar, ukulele and bass professionally for over 25 years. My first teaching job started in 2001 in a small music store in my local town. Over the next 6 years or so I became the top teacher there with over 50 students on my weekly roster. In 2006 I also opened a music venue which I managed to keep open for 9 years. I left the music store in 2008 but kept teaching for various companies. Eventually I also started my own. Over the years I've had several bands, started and ran a recording studio and record label. Since 2015 I've been only teaching. I officially started teaching virtually in 2018 which gave me the opportunity to connect with students all over the world. No two lessons are the same. However, I do pride myself on always being organized and having a plan. In general, most lessons will be a tri-force: technique, theory, then both applied to songs of your choosing. And we always end with an exact list of things for you to do by the next lesson
