About Padmini
Hi! I'm Padmini, an MBA graduate from York University's Schulich School of Business and an experienced English and IELTS learner who has personally achieved an overall IELTS score of 8+ on more than three occasions, across both Academic and General Training tests.
I've also achieved perfect scores in IELTS Reading and Listening and a 6/6 in the GMAT Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA).
Having taken these high-stakes English exams multiple times, I understand that knowing English is only part of the challenge. The right strategy, time management, answer structure and understanding of what examiners are looking for can make a huge difference to your score.
Whether you're aiming for your first 7+, trying to move from 7 to 8+, or simply want to become more confident in English, I'll help you build the skills and strategies you need.

My teaching approach is based on a combination of firsthand IELTS experience, academic writing, communication and structured learning.
I've taken both Academic and General Training IELTS multiple times and achieved 8+ overall scores on 3+ occasions, including perfect Reading and Listening scores. I also achieved 6/6 in the GMAT Analytical Writing Assessment, which strengthened my ability to structure arguments, communicate ideas clearly and write under time pressure.
My academic background includes an MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University and an undergraduate engineering degree. Through my academic and professional experience, I've developed strong skills in research, writing, presentations, communication and simplifying complex information.
In my lessons, I focus on identifying exactly where a student is losing marks and giving practical, actionable feedback rather than simply providing more grammar exercises.
I can help with IELTS Academic and General Training, English conversation, academic writing, grammar, vocabulary, presentations and professional English.
