About Calum
Who am I?
I am a Scottish-born, IB and IGCSE Mathematics teacher in an international school. After achieving 100% in my Advanced Higher Mathematics exam, I went to study physics at university, finishing with a PhD.
Why maths?
Maths has always been more than just numbers and equations for me—it's a way of thinking, a tool for solving real-world problems, and a skill that opens doors to endless possibilities. I believe that everyone has the potential to excel in maths, and my goal is to help you discover your own strengths and capabilities.
Why teaching?
Teaching is my way of sharing this passion with you. I want to show you that maths isn’t something to fear, but something to conquer and even enjoy. Watching students like you grow in confidence, understand complex concepts, and achieve results that once seemed out of reach is what drives me every day.
I teach because I believe in you. I know that with the right guidance and support, you can not only meet but exceed your expectations. I’m here to make maths clearer, more approachable, and, yes, even fun.

With years of experience in teaching IB and IGCSE Mathematics, I specialize in guiding students to excel in their exams. Qualifications:
PhD Theoretical Physics
MPhys (First Honours) Mathematical Physics
SQA Advanced Higher Mathematics A (100%)
Two types of lesson:
Standard tutoring to reinforce what is taught in class. We do the homework together so I can understand particular struggles. Then we do extra exercises to solidify the learning.
Exam preparation. We do many exam paper questions, going through the marking schemes together. We learn how to pick up as many marks as possible.
