About Akash
As a researcher with a strong academic background from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, I am deeply passionate about bridging the gap between high-level research and impactful teaching. My experience in designing methodologies and analyzing complex data enhances my ability to distill sophisticated concepts into clear, engaging, and accessible insights for my students.

Most people see mathematics as a collection of rules to follow, but as a researcher, I see it as a language of patterns. My journey into science and math started with a lot of questions, which eventually led me to earn my Master’s in Physics, and submission of my Ph.D. thesis at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. My research experience taught me a vital lesson that the most complex ideas are often built on very simple, logical foundations. My goal is to help students find that logic so students never have to rely on just memorizing formulas again.
I’ve spent around 10 years working one-on-one with high school students teaching math and physics. Whether students are stuck on subtraction of negative integers or trying to make sense of distributive law in high school algebra. I’ve seen it all. I also spent two years at Edtech Byju's, where I designed digital lessons for thousands of learners. Across all these roles, my mission remains the same: to take the 'scary' out of math and replace it with genuine 'aha!' moments."
I don't just teach, how to solve a problem; I teach, how to think through it. I want every student to be a producer of mathematical thought, not just a consumer of information. To do this, I make math visual. I use tools like the chip model for integers and area models for distributive law to make abstract concepts feel concrete. By grounding math in real-world logic, I help students unlock their potential and build a foundation that lasts a lifetime."
"Even as I continue my own research, my passion for teaching remains at the forefront. I am excited to bring my experience in research, data analysis, and pedagogical design to my remote teaching program.
