About Charles
I have now been tutoring for a number of years, focusing on maths and science subjects. I aim to have students improve their expected grades or achieve the highest grade possible.
A further aim is always to make lessons interesting, specifically developing ways in which the student can understand the underlying basis of anything that is taught. I focus as much on the structure of learning as on the specific subject material. Taking the student out of the classroom setting allows me to focus on the specific strengths and weaknesses of the individual and tailor a lesson accordingly.
Whatever is taught, first and foremost it must be enjoyable and stimulating. Secondly, it must be conducive to attaining the desired goals of the student.
Additionally, I have helped to prepare people for professional aptitude tests, in particular in the area of finance and investment. Also, I have taught finance at bank training programs for annual graduate intakes.
Whether it is a child being prepared at 11+ or a graduate learning about high finance, the philosophy is the same - make the basics interesting and well-founded and provide the fun and motivation for the student to build upon this knowledge.
