About Matt
I am a third year chemical engineering student at Imperial College looking for work tutoring Maths and Chemistry for levels from Primary to A-level. I have been tutoring my peers and family friends since 2016 throughout GCSEs and A-levels in various subjects, where many students understandable struggle, breaking down complicated concepts into just the key information to ease understanding.
At A-level, I achieved the top marks in my year with 3 A*s in Maths, Chemistry and Biology, as well as an A in Economics. On top of this, my tuition of a few of my peers resulted in an increase of 3, sometimes 4 grades, from mocks to the real exams in a short time period. Looking forward to helping you all with any problems you have with Maths and/or Chemistry.

When approaching any topic that a student has trouble understanding, I first ensure that the student fully understands the underlying basics before approaching the topic. Many teachers, especially in schools, to drown on about the complicated details without acknowledging that students, may not have a clue whats going on due to a gap in previous knowledge.
Breaking down complicated concepts into just the key information that is needed for understanding and exams is the best approach to take and saves a lot of time when it comes to the revision period. Once the student has grasped the concept completely, then putting it to practice is the next part of the lesson where problems will be attempted to enforce the concept completely and refine any last gaps in knowledge.
However, repetition is key, so I will not just teach a concept one lesson and never return to it. Building on one lesson with the next will always be the case with my tuition, meaning the student will not be able to just forget past topics until well past they are needed anymore.
