About Kanishk
I am a second-year Mathematics student at Imperial College London, predicted a First Class degree. I achieved A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Business Studies at A-Level, and was admitted to Imperial through the MAT, the same problem-solving test I now help students prepare for.
I have been tutoring one-to-one for over two years, with 170+ hours of tuition delivered across A-Level Maths, Further Maths and Physics. One of my students went from predicted C grades to A*AA at A-Level and is now reading Mathematics and Physics at the University of Warwick.
I took up tutoring because I find the teaching side genuinely interesting. Working out exactly why something is not clicking for a particular student, and then fixing it, is a different kind of problem-solving to maths but just as satisfying.
I do not have patience for sessions that drift. Every hour should move the student forward on something specific.

Sessions are one hour, online. I tutor A-Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and TMUA preparation, across AQA, Edexcel and OCR.
My approach is built around genuine understanding rather than pattern recognition. The students who improve most are the ones who can handle a question they have never seen before, and that only comes from actually understanding the maths, not memorising techniques. Every session is built around that.
In practice, the first session is always diagnostic. I work through problems with the student to find where the gaps actually are, not where they think they are, and build a structured plan from there. Sessions combine theory, worked examples and timed exam practice. I always set focused homework between sessions to consolidate what we have covered.
These sessions suit A-Level and GCSE students who are motivated and want to move forward quickly, whether catching up on missed ground or pushing for the top grades from a solid base. I also work with Year 12 and Year 13 students preparing for the TMUA, which opens for registration in June 2026 for the October sitting.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and have delivered 170+ hours of one-to-one tuition.

Kanishk and I are both studying Mathematics at Imperial and have worked through problem sheets and problem classes together over the past two years. What I have noticed is how he approaches explaining things. When something is not clicking, he does not just repeat the same method faster. He works back to the underlying idea until the logic is clear.
He is also honest when something is unclear rather than bluffing through it, which is exactly what you want from a tutor. I have seen his students' results and they speak for themselves. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for rigorous, patient one-to-one tuition in Maths or Physics.I worked with Kanishk over two years preparing for my A-Levels in Maths, Further Maths and Physics. When we started, I was predicted Cs across all three subjects. I ended up with A*AA and a place at Warwick to study Maths and Physics.
What made the difference was the way he explained things. He never just showed me how to do a question and moved on. He would work through the reasoning from first principles until I understood why something worked, not just what to do. That sounds obvious but it is not how most teaching works in practice and it is why I stopped being thrown by questions I had not seen before.
He also set homework after every session and marked it properly, which kept me accountable between lessons in a way that made a real difference to how much I retained. Sessions were focused and he did not waste time. If I was struggling with something he would come at it from a different angle until it clicked.
I would not have got the grades I did without those sessions. If you are looking for someone who will genuinely move your understanding forward rather than just go through past papers with you, I would not hesitate to recommend him.View more recommendations

My standard rate is £35 per hour for A-Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics across AQA, Edexcel and OCR.
For TMUA preparation I charge £40 per hour, reflecting the specialist nature of the test and the preparation involved. TMUA sessions are particularly suited to Year 12 students applying to Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial or Durham for Mathematics or related courses, with the October 2026 sitting as the target.
I offer a free first lesson so you can assess fit before committing to regular sessions. Lesson packages are available at a preferential rate for students who want to book ahead.
