About Emilia
Hey! I’m Emilia, an international student from New Zealand studying Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College London. I received 43 points in the Nov-21 IB session, achieving five 7s with 777 HL Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. My hobbies include ultra running, hiking, marketing, investing, model rocketry, sewing, and cooking! I’m a passionate learner and have always enjoyed studying, and I hope to share that passion with my students. My goal is to provide students with tools for success that will last them well into the future and apply to many aspects of life, not just academics. I have 4 years of tutoring experience, teaching maths and science.

My top priority is to increase a student’s passion for a subject by providing them with the necessary tools to become a successful and engaged student. Every student learns differently and has different academic needs, thus material is tailored to optimise learning. Such as by spaced repetition, techniques relating to critically analysing and answering questions, assistance creating a study schedule and routine, education on optimising sleep, exercise and nutrition, and the many other factors that lead to academic success outside of simply studying. I believe that academic success doesn’t just come from studying hard, but working smarter and optimising one’s environment to stimulate increased focus and engagement. I will also provide free access to the study notes I used in my IB and GCSE exams.

My fees reflect the time I put into the lessons beyond our sessions - I will typically spend an hour in preparation for each lesson, as well as analysing the success of our lesson together. If there is anything you specifically struggle with I will create worksheets tailored to you, including providing resources to help you understand the content better. I am also happy to help create a study plan for the student, and provide access to my own notes that I have written over the years.
