About Ronak

Hi, I’m Ronak, an Electrical and Electronic Engineering student at Imperial College London. I understand how frustrating Maths can feel when it does not click, as I had to learn how to improve my own study methods and approach to problem-solving.

Through consistent work, I achieved an A* in A-level Maths with 273/300 and recently scored 85% in Mathematics at Imperial, placing around the top 5% of my cohort. This experience has shown me how much clear explanations, effective study techniques and patient support can help a student progress.

I know how stressful Maths can feel when it doesn’t click, so I focus on making it simple, clear and approachable. Rather than teaching memorised steps, I explain the “why” behind each topic so students can build real understanding and confidence.

I have experience tutoring students online and have helped them make significant improvements in their grades. I have also supported my younger sister with her 11+ and school exams, and volunteered in Poland through Angloville, helping students improve their English. These experiences taught me how to adapt my explanations to different learning styles.

Outside of studying, I enjoy bodybuilding and Muay Thai, which have taught me discipline and consistency - qualities I bring to my tutoring approach.

About the lesson

I’m a patient and supportive tutor who focuses on helping students understand the “why” behind maths rather than simply memorising methods. I believe students make the most progress when they understand where a method comes from and how to apply it confidently to different types of questions. I keep my explanations clear, break difficult topics into manageable steps and adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s ability and learning pace.

Lessons usually last around an hour and focus on one main topic so that students have enough time to build a strong understanding without feeling overwhelmed. I normally begin with a short recap to identify any gaps, before explaining the key ideas and working through examples together. Students then practise exam-style questions with guidance, gradually becoming more independent as their confidence improves. I also encourage students to ask questions whenever they are unsure, as lessons should feel comfortable and supportive rather than rushed.
