About Tarania
I have been providing private tuition for the past six years - this ranges from year 6 SAT levels up to A level tuition. Subjects taught include Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry (for all levels up to A level). My students have seen improvement with my tutoring, and obtained great GCSE results.
I have completed my Masters in Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London (achieved a Distinction across all modules), and graduated with a first class honours in BEng Chemical Engineering from Newcastle University. I love the application of both science and engineering to create materials of value in the real world, and hence am now currently working as an Environmental Consultant, specialising in low carbon fuels. I also achieved A* grades in both my A level and GCSE Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry. Having a strong mathematical and science background, combined with teaching experience, I am confident in my ability to teach these subjects up to A level.
I personally struggled with Maths & Chemistry subjects in my younger years, but over time I built my confidence and abilities in these subjects (and now working a science heavy job) through refining my revision & exam techniques, which I wish to share with my students. I am aware of the common mistakes students tend to make, and so am able to work through them by adapting to each student's learning style.

My teaching structure involves creating a personalised curriculum which is tailored for each student, based on their current ability, areas of difficulty and their goals. The lessons will involve teaching key concepts, along with working through exam-style questions. We will work through how to approach each of the question types, and structure the answers. Having tutored for almost three years, I have experience adapting to the specific learning techniques of my students, whilst also having a thorough understanding of the course content.
At the end of each lesson, I will help the students compile notes on what they have just learned, so that they can retain this knowledge for the future, and use it to revise for their examinations. I can provide tips on revision and exam techniques, having refined my own over my years at University.
