About Shozen
Hello! I am a Phd candidate in Mathematics at Imperial College London, holding an MSc in Statistics (with Distinction and the best MSc thesis award) from the same institution.
I studied software engineering at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan. I achieved a 3.97 GPA during my exchange year at the University of California, Davis, where I majored in statistics. I also worked as a research assistant at UC Davis and the Stanford School of Medicine, collaborating on statistical and biomedical projects.
I currently develop novel statistical methods and bring this research expertise into tutoring. I offer tailored lessons in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, and Data Science for students at GCSE, A‑Level, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. My sessions focus on building a deep conceptual understanding, honing problem-solving skills, and applying techniques to real-world problems.
Whether you’re preparing for exams, strengthening programming skills, or exploring advanced data analysis, I’ll customise each lesson to your goals. Feel free to book a complimentary introductory session, where we can discuss how to help you succeed!

In our first session, we’ll work together to set clear, achievable goals—whether you’re aiming for top exam grades, a solid grasp of math | statistics | programming concepts, or the ability to analyse real‑world data.
I’ll review your course materials and exercises, break down each topic into intuitive, bite‑sized steps, and guide you through targeted practice until you feel confident.
In my lessons, you’ll do the heavy lifting, while I provide explanations, ask questions, and offer constructive feedback every step of the way.
By the end of each session, you’ll not only understand the theory but also be equipped with practical skills to excel in exams, projects, or research.
