About Tammy
Hi, I'm Tammy. I’m a Vocal coach who lives in Manchester UK, looking to spread the joy of singing with those willing to learn. I started my music journey at the age of 10, at Chetham’s School of Music, where I started as a chorister for Manchester Cathedral choir. During my choral training, I went on a vocal tour of Portugal as part of the choir, and sung in several BBC Radio 3 broadcasts. A couple of years later, at aged 14, I transcended from a choral scholar to a vocalist at Chetham’s, which is when I started to explore Opera singing techniques and repertoire. I studied under the tutelage of Stuart Overington (director of the Hallé Youth Choir) and Marcus Farnsworth (Head of the Vocal department at Chetham’s) who have both tremendously shaped my voice and outlook on music as a whole.
The main reason I started teaching is because I want to share the sheer magic and exhilaration that can be felt through singing and performing. I believe singing is a way to explore the raw emotions that we as humans experience, but often don’t know how to express. Singing is a creative outlet to express yourself freely.

Throughout my time at Chetham’s School of Music, I toured the UK with Welsh National Opera which has vastly shaped my ability to perform. Continuing my musical education, I will be attending Royal Northern College of Music where my love for music will continue to flourish.
During my time at Chetham’s I completed my Grade 8 singing exam in which I scored a high distinction. I am now currently working towards completing my diploma.
My teaching journey began 2 years ago, following the footsteps of my mum who is a trained concert pianist, and also graduated Chetham’s School of Music and RNCM.
The main focus of each singing lesson is specifically tailored to each student's unique goals and aims. Whether that be working through grades, or simply to improve their overall singing technique, and performance skills. As a teacher, I believe the best way for a student to excel in a lesson is by letting them take charge to find what type of singing style they truly love.
I can teach people of any age, however younger students (13 and below) will work more on the performance side of singing rather than technique as their vocals are not properly developed enough.
Most young students start off with a 20 minute lesson = £12 \ Older students will need a longer lesson, either 30 minutes = £16, or an hour = £33.
