About Lya

Qualifications & Experience:
I am a fully qualified teacher, holding a QTS and an enhanced DBS. I have classroom teaching experience in state, private, and international schools.

I have experience working with students with learning disabilities like dyslexia and dyscalculia as well as students with ADHD.

I also have experience tutoring international students from all around the world who are studying the British curriculum or would like to apply for (boarding) schools in the UK.

I have tutored many students, helping them get into schools like Westminster, St Pauls, Eton, Hampton, Emanuel, Harrodian, King Edward VI, Kings, Epsom, Putney High and Highgate.

A personal approach:
I take pride in building long-lasting relationships with the students and families I teach. As I also tutor at secondary school level, many of my students come back for lessons even after their exams

Nice to meet you!
Hello, my name is Lya and I help students prepare for various KS2 exams such as 11+ exams (including ISEB) and the SATs.

My Approach:
I believe in personalised learning experiences tailored to each of my student's needs. I offer lessons in all subjects needed for the exams: English (including creative writing), maths, VR, NVR,... We can work on a specific area you are struggling with or do all-round prep. I know the curriculum inside out.

Study Plan:
I will help you make a study plan depending on your individual goals. No matter what level you are at now, I can help you unlock your full potential. I will be there each step of the way to support you and adapt the plan as needed. My plans are very flexible: some of my students book a one-off lesson every now and then, some of my students are on intensive 5-lesson a week plans. Homework for in-between lessons can be provided at no extra cost, if desired.

Techniques & Methodology:
All my lessons are online, one-to-one and 50 minutes long (double sessions with a break in-between available).

My lessons are interactive and engaging, never boring. I focus on building motivation and confidence in my students.
