About Aanchal

Aanchal is a BSc. Psychology (Hons.) graduate (3.77/4 GPA) from Christ University, Bangalore. She also has a PG Diploma in Counselling Psychology (9.75/10) from Jain University and has been accepted into Johns Hopkins University for an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counselling for Fall'21.

She is an aspiring Clinical-Forensic Psychologist with a passion for teaching and research. She has a deep understanding of the subject knowledge and has a good hold of how the subject must be taught to target examinations. She also teaches non-academics interested in psychology.

Over the last 4 years, she has completed 5+ internships and she was also a Fortis Young Mental Health Advocate in 2019. At the moment, she is honing her skills as a professional, working on several research projects, and is pursuing her interest in dispersing subject knowledge to students.

About the lesson

Like any other subject, everyone learns Psychology differently. My aim is to identify the student's preferred learning method and create a customized Lesson Plan with end goals in consideration. I use multiple modes like reading material, quizzes, and short videos to teach students.

Psychology cannot be learnt discretely from books: the idea is to learn theoretical foundations and discuss their applications in real-world scenarios. I like my classes to be interactive and these discussions evolve students to have a holistic understanding of the concepts. I believe this understanding of the broader scope gives students an upper hand in exams and outside class.

I assume a friendly, yet firm and patient manner while teaching, and I prefer to teach individually or in small groups of 2 to 3. I am familiar with teaching syllabus across all boards (IGCSE, CBSE, PU, etc) for school and undergraduate students.

I use a sliding scale for my classes so they can be more accessible and affordable.
I also offer classes in small groups so the cost per student reduces.

Single student- 400/h
2 Students- 700/h
3 Students- 1000/h

I will also be open to rate negotiations and further cost reductions on a case-by-case basis.
