About Shaunak
I'm currently attending Stanford University on a scholarship, and my own academic track record is what shapes how I teach. I'm predicted 625 points (LC results are not out) in the Leaving Cert, and placed in the 94th percentile on the HPAT.
Alongside school, I'm passionate about research and have pursued research at Harvard Medical School, applying machine learning to study the factors that guide human attention.
I also represented Ireland at MIT and was selected for MIT's Research Science Institute (RSI) to carry out further research there.
I also won a BTYSE category award for a project on self-supervised learning for neural semantic decoding, which I presented at a conference at RCSI, and was a finalist in the All-Ireland Programming Olympiad.
These experiences have given me a genuine, tested understanding of what it takes to perform at the highest level — in the classroom, in competitive exams, and in research — and I bring that same rigor and clarity to every lesson I teach.

Every lesson is built around the individual student — we start by identifying exactly where the gaps are, whether that's a specific topic, exam technique, or general confidence, and build a plan from there.
For Math and Applied Math, I focus on building genuine understanding of core concepts first, then layering on exam technique — past-paper strategy, time management, and how to pick up marks efficiently even under pressure.
For Physics, I connect the math to the underlying intuition, so formulas make sense rather than needing to be memorized.
For HPAT, sessions are structured around the three sections (Logical Reasoning, Interpersonal Understanding, and Non-Verbal Reasoning), with a strong focus on timed practice, since pacing is often the biggest challenge.
For SAT Prep, I work through both the Math and Reading & Writing sections, targeting the specific question types that trip students up most and building a realistic timing strategy for test day.
Lessons are available online or in person, and I keep them interactive — explaining concepts, working through problems together, and reviewing mistakes properly rather than just moving on. I also set light homework between sessions to keep momentum going, and track progress so both students and parents can see real improvement over time.
Sessions run evenings and weekends to fit around school.
